We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer who strives for engineering excellence and excels in constantly changing environments. You are excited about SW-Backend Development, systems architecture, modern technologies (Edge computing, Hyperconverged/ High availability infra, open source, PaaS, monitoring etc.) at a global scale and you want to take part in developing the future of IKEA! To succeed as a Software Engineer, you will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Proficiency in Software Development skills and its connecting Software lifecycle (SCM,GIT, etc)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python/Bash) and one functional programming language (Java/Go/C++), with a good understanding of CI/CD practices.
- Strong experience in utilising and developing REST APIs for service integration and developer support.
- Familiarity with infrastructure architecture principles, including automation, Infrastructure as Code processes, microservices, and containerization.
- Proficiency in Nutanix HCI, AHV hypervisor, and its associated management tools for full-stack infrastructure.
- Knowledge of configuration management like Ansible, Ansible Tower, Puppet for automation tasks.
- Background in managing Windows/Linux servers, networking, storage, and computing resources.
- Expertise in virtualisation technologies for distributed and high-availability hosting environments.
- A proactive approach to continuous learning and skill enhancement, with a focus on mentoring others in your field of expertise.

The Opportunity:
Join our dynamic unit as a Platform Area Manager. In this critical role, you will take accountability of the direct Commercial aspect, giving directional guidance to the rest of Group Digital, dealing with needs from other Ingka legal entities.
You will be accountable for maintaining and further develop a high-quality technology service for the services and products that are bought by the different Inter IKEA organizations and also other legal entities within Ingka.
Utilizing both new and existing technologies and agile delivery methods, you will drive the digital agenda for the Product responsibility that sits with the unit, ensuring IKEA remains at the forefront of a rapidly evolving environment.
As a Platform Area Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
-Developing and implementing the platform roadmap, decomposing platform functionality, and decommissioning.
-Operating and maintaining a highly reliable and stable platform.
-Balancing the need to implement the platform roadmap while ensuring platform functionality and satisfying the ongoing needs of the.
-Managing performance of all platform-related infrastructure.
-Managing stakeholders across teams and functions to reach agreement on conflicting priorities.

-Driving consistency in practice, process, toolset, and architecture within platform management.

To be successful as a Senior Technology Architect you have proven advanced education in information technology, computer science or equivalent. We believe you have extensive experience from product and engineering organizations. You are experienced in developing service architectures that are cloud-native, and event-driven and apply an API First approach or have developed services that enables those architectures. You bring experience from transforming traditional data center architectures to seamlessly work in a multi-cloud environment. You have preferably worked with Open Source and automation and have a deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code. In addition, we also believe you have a strong Enterprise Architecture background and know how to keep a technology architecture together across a Service Area in the Technology landscape within the retail business and how to modernize its existing legacy.

Your responsibilities
As a Senior Technology Architect within the area of Core Infrastructure you will develop the technology architecture landscape across IKEA and be part of setting the course with sound engineering/architecture through principles and standards that enable guidance for teams. By influencing decisions across multiple levels, you make sure to set and drive the future architecture across both legacy and digital products (at scale). Your personality allows you to balance a common purpose amongst a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure reaching both short- and long-term goals.



In this role, you are:
- Responsible for driving and developing the architecture across design, build, engineering and implementation of technical solutions and capabilities, providing technical leadership, and long-term planning to align technology to business objectives ensuring the best fit within the larger IKEA ecosystem.
- Responsible for defining the future architecture direction for an assigned domain, the coexistence with legacy, leverage domain-driven design to define boundaries of the products and their respective capabilities.
- Responsible for defining the information flow between products and legacy systems within an area and across the landscape
- Resolving architecture topics in significant landscape changes affecting the sub-domain
- Providing the architecture perspective on prioritizations in a sub-domain context, its consequences and impact to reach the sub-domain strategies and outcomes
- Driving and developing to the architecture roadmap view for the sub-domain as well as drive the execution
- Developing the Enterprise Architecture practices, and architecture guardrails used in product teams along with being a champion of innovation and engineering excellence culture
