What you'll be doing day to day
• Manage and maintain critical Network Services such as IPAM, DNS, and DHCP.
• Develop and implement Network Automation using tools like Ansible/AWX to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Integrate and maintain Network inventory through automation and APIs.
• Collaborate with internal network teams and external stakeholders to streamline service delivery and improve time-to-market.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

You ideally have:
• Hands-on experience in Network Automation using Ansible and AWX.

The Connectivity Services team consists of six engineers, and we are the backbone of IKEA’s global network, managing critical systems like DNS/DHCP, Network monitoring, Firewall Orchestration, and Network Inventory. We’re a small team consisting of around 7 people. We are quite autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together. We are based in southern Sweden on three locations and we have a hybrid work policy.
We are passionate about our consumer needs, where fast feedback is enabled by automation, A/B testing and data analysis. Anyone on our team can come up with ideas on things to work on. Such ideas often lead to a few people teaming up to create a first prototype and releasing it as an A/B test to learn if the idea is good or not. Requirements:
Formal qualifications in computer science, software engineering, or any engineering equivalent
Minimum 6 years of professional experience as software engineer with similar level of experience in the specific tech stack for the area

To succeed as a Senior Systems Engineer you have:
Extensive knowledge in Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) technology.
Extensive experience in automation and scripting/coding (Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
Extensive knowledge of common development concepts such as Git, CI/CD and working REST API’s
Extensive experience in managing MS Windows and Linux server
Extensive knowledge in server management, monitoring, and dashboard creation in enterprise environment
Good architecture and design experience in hosting infrastructure
Holistic view in Cyber security in relation to hosting infrastructure
Good knowledge of Network stack
Constant desire to learn, improve and enable others to grow in your area of expertise
Leadership experience and ability to lead a team of experienced System Engineers
Experience in a retail or distribution business is beneficial, but not excluding.

Who you are
We believe you have several years of managing Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), MS Windows, and Linux server experience. You are willing to grow into other Infrastructure areas such as Open-Source hosting.
We believe that you have extensive knowledge of hosting infrastructure architecture.
We believe you have good experience in designing and managing high-availability solutions including clustering.
We value knowledge in Stores and Offices distributed environments.
We value leadership and coaching in our team members.
Your responsibilities
Among many tasks you will:
Be a part of the development, provisioning, operation, and life-cycle management of core infrastructure solutions through automation and self-service capabilities in our stores and offices globally
Ensure and review systems compliance towards legislations, policies, or other requirements
Take responsibility for cooperation and align key stakeholders throughout the IKEA Group with interdependencies towards Group Digital to develop Product/Service design and technical roadmaps
You will establish the needed dashboards for the visualization of our service metrics such as usage, cost, and compliance to ensure our efficiency.

Together as a team
As a Senior Systems Engineer within Distributed Hosting Store/Office, you will be a part of the team responsible for designing and delivering well-designed, secured, and scalable core infrastructure solutions to support consumers across IKEA globally on our distributed sites. You will be surrounded by skilled & experienced engineers that are organized in small fully empowered Agile teams. Distributed Hosting Store/Office Team has co-workers in Sweden (Helsingborg and Älmhult) and China (Shanghai).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Systems Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Develop, run, monitor and support the assigned product or service with the right toolset required in order to deliver according to requirements.
- Design, develop and deliver a technology service through automation and self-service capabilities for efficient, availability and usability
- Design and guide in ways of working for other engineers encouraging good practices to meet consumer expectations on service delivery.
- Lead and coach in change activities in different environments in order to secure functionality and availability
- Drive and deliver test, performance analysis, configuration management and creation of functional/feature specifications to improve the product/service delivery.
- Apply and promote good engineering practices within an agile/iterative development approach in order to improve time to market.
- Engage in coaching and mentoring of engineers in order to secure transfer of competence and high performing team.

ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
At Group Digital, we set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in an uncertain and fastmoving environment. We drive the development, provision and operation of our digital products and services through the use of new and existing technology and agile delivery methods to deliver at pace. At the same time, we provide a home for digital skills to both develop and extend the technical, people and business skills needed to ensure continuous development and growth of our digital capability.


These positions are located in Helsingborg.
